THE PLANTATION PHILOSOPHY DERIVES FROM A LONG AND FASTIDIOUS LEARNING PROCESS

Rum today offers a wide regional diversity and three or four centuries of heritage handed down from each island and country where it is produced. This passed-down knowledge gives a richness to the spirit of rum that is unique in its category.
The expert skill of our Cellar Master and Distiller in Cognac has enabled us to learn, practice and refine these methods for more than twenty-five years.

After many years of practice with our nurturing methods, the results are proof of our success. “Grands arômes” (high esters) and peak maturity resulted from the brewing, mixing and nurturing. This knowledge seeped into our consciousness and informs us every day in our constant pursuit of perfection.

Over time these ancient techniques taught us many things. Why should we exclude some of them when we could incorporate the best methods instead?  Rum is a fabulous product and this diversity surrounding its production sets it apart from all other spirits. If rum tried to imitate other categories tomorrow, it would be a big mistake and would surely compromise its soul. At Plantation, the learning process never ends, and we fiercely defend the great heritage of rum.
